Re:      Fixing the problems in Game Room NAC Building.

As a student of CCNY, I would like to express you the concerns I have about the Gaming Room in the NAC Building ground floor and some possible solutions to solve the problems there.

Significance of Game Room

The problem with the Gaming Room in NAC building is more than what you can just realize in a glance. As I am on the second semester of my freshman year, I have noticed that this room is quiet often used by the students, especially when they are trying to release the stress of the college life. Also, people find it as a good way to make friends on campus and cooperate with them not only when playing, but also in doing their assignments out of the game room.

Problems

As such, I think more attention should be paid to this room. There are just a few operating hours during the week and that makes it almost impossible to match student’s schedule with the Game Room’s. Moreover, the conditions of the playing sites there are miserable. Some of the billiard pools are broken and is impossible to play due to the ripped carpet on them. Also, the video games that are supposed to be working, do not serve at all, without mentioning that they are too old for nowadays. Beside these, the room in general is too small to support a huge college as CCNY and there are usually long lines of students waiting to get to play a game there.

Solutions

There are some ways in solving these problems and I came up with the following possible solutions that we may discuss them later briefly in a meeting that I would like to have with you.

  • Increase the operating hours of the Game Room from 3 hours a day to 8-10 hours per day.
  • Increase the area of the game room double-size of what it actually is.
  • Replace the old-rusted equipment with brand new ones including: billiard cues, billiard carpet, ping pong racquets, PS-2 and x-box 360 with respectively, PS-4 and x-box one, old TVs with flat slim ones etc.

Also, my idea for several game competitions throughout the semester stands but as I said, we can get to discuss these more in details in a meeting that I would really like to have with you.
